Loss Of A Sock

Isn't it just extremely annoying when you lose one, singular sock? The sock remaining just lies there with little purpose waiting for its twin to be found. I find it hard to throw the sock away [especially if the pair is particuarly nice or comfortable]. This situation actually occurred to me after my weekend holiday away, but I'll write about that in a later blog.
In addition, I had the same thing happening to me concerning a flip-flop, one lovely blue flip-flop [although I did hate the pair because they constantly rub]. So, yeah...

Anyway, that wasn't my main point; my main point to make was, however belated, the fun of Friday's picnic =D
Now, I know most people present on both blogger and the picnic have mentioned the day and it is already old news, but this is just me documenting a good day for the sake of it. I like the idea of reading back in the future, like I'm kind of obsessed with keeping my old schoolbooks. Very sad I know and I am missing out on the 'traditional' book burning but I enjoy the idea of my own history in this world. I especially like the fact I kept my year 6 book; my handwriting was probably easier to read back then :L I envy myself
Anyway, off topic now....

Right so, linking the flip-flop problem to picnic Friday, I was not amused when I found one flip-flop at the bottom of the stairs in the morning when I had hoped to wear them during the planned waterfight [although this did not occur]. I nicked Gareth's (mum's partner) flip-flops instead :) Who needs two pairs of flip-flops anyway :P

So yeah, lovely walk to Morgan-Jones' then. Ended up meeting up with Xanthe, Beth and Sarah along Mill Road and shopped in Asdas for ages, getting much random food, to be honest. Mini doughnuts are nice! =]
And then, after embarassing ourselves at the self-service check-out we walked up the stream-river-whatever up towards MJ Park.

At our arrival began the separation of picnics which began as a simple protest to concrete but led to much unwanted gossiping as far as I'm concerned.

But anyway, social friction aside, I think the football was very fun and funny. The 'quality played against the quantity' with a solid wall consisting of Beth, Leah, Carrie and Karan I seem to remember in one goal. Although, they still seemed to manage to let goals in :L
Chloe's football talents in flip-flops were immense :P and we kept our victory dance going too.
Also, Ben rallied our team well, I felt :)
However, the opposite team deserves a mention too I guess. Adam, I was really surprised he could see the ball :L so good playing there Ad. With Rout attempting to disable players and Liam and Lewis playing rather well its no surprise that they had about '50' goals lol

The day also saw the arrival of Jemma (Phil's girlfriend) into our midst, no doubt leaving us with much fear :L

The water fountains are excellent fun as usual, and Phil kept up his fear of them. Annoyingly, he can still run fast enough to evade me [as I only wished to make him feel some water :P]
Hilarity ensued though, when Lewis brought him down later on, but we didn't get him under the fountain. He kicks a lot :-|

Played on swings :] and the climbing frame of rope thing..... And Omg, little kids' roundabout is better than the big kids' crap one. As Lewis said 'there is a lot of friction' due to the 'ball bearings'. (Ooo by the way, I am forever in Lewis' debt, for his scientific explanations, especially in Chemistry this year....Thanks man =D)

So I'd say just about before two, I settled over on the grass next to the food :P and then played with the rugby ball avec Mair, Adam, and Xanthe. Apparently, I have an extremely serious face when passing the ball, even when trying to keep a straight face. However, it can't be as funny as Xanthe's face when she was laughing at mine :P haha

Anyway, that was the end of the day for me (about 20 to 3) because I had to be home for mother at 3 as the entire family was going on a National Trust Holiday for the weekend. Extremely fun it was, but I shall be elaborating on that in my next blog - Weekend at Dinefwr House.

=D

Stay informed :P

you could always try wearing odd socks? and hooray for the 'quantity' team lol

In ball games, if the quantity is high enough, quality is irrelevant XD
