'Dancing On A Friday Night!'

Not really dancing tonight (wouldn't mind though) but I just like the Darkness' song :]

Anyway, today I got happy :)
Out of french finally!!! wooo .... I did look a tad bit stupid today [as per usual] because I went to French for an hour before telling Miss I didn't want to do French next year and she said I shoulda said when I got there :-| ... still, the lesson was alright. Just watched french film extracts and judged them. We didn't even speak French all lesson! Annoyed Phil a bit and got out early. Now my Friday afternoons are really free :DAlthough, are the timetables changing then next year? I dunno

So Plants vs Zombies! There must be a blog on this :P

For those who don't know about it [although I doubt there are any] it's the new craze in 6th form gaming, and I must say its beaten the old AoE obsession. You look around the IT room now; you will not find a game in progress ... well I certainly haven't seen any. And this is probably a good thing because it leads to a lot of rivalry and lack of socialising. As John said 'we've spent pretty much the entire year in this room'. I have nothing against the room but I do wish we'd talk more lol.

I'm way over AoE now; it's so boring now especially with all the cheaters on it. I would rant for hours but John doesn't have any blog and has expressed his negative feelings on it so no bloggering person would be particuarly interested in AoE rants...

So, going back to the quitting of French and of course, I really want to remove Chemistry from my timetable, I'm slightly worried about the lack of work to do throughout the day. Although, I am planning on adding Psychology [and nothing you say Xanthe will change my mind] I will still have way to much free time on my hands. You'd think that was good but not really. I don't want to spend an excessive amount of time in the computer room. I need to find some hobby to do (this is an idea nicked off Chloe's blog by the way).
Well, for the holidays I'm planning to get back into guitar; well I'll look at it at least. Also, I would love to start learning about driving in some form. I'd feel much better even if I just read about a car or two. I feel out of place when people can have conversations about cars and problems and how great they all are, while I stand there completely bemused.
Also, in the holdiays, I want to work towards my IOLP targets - find out best archaeology/ancient history courses in universities, read up on archaeology, and going on a real dig :) If i manage to find one I could volunteer for, that would be good. I really wanna find something interesting [although I probably won't but you know. I wanna see something historical and learn about it. It'd give me something to do. I don't really see how I could incorporate that into school :/ but well its something.

Good thing about the school computers ... You can blog!! :P
Also, Gwyn is happpy that he has mobile blogging; meant to take a random photo today and put it on here, but I forgot. Will do though :D

Yeah, so this weekend I'm off to do the directing of the Castles' Relay - a run through Wales where a person runs from castle to castle and when they get there another person takes over. Me, my nan, my mum, and 3 of my aunties are driving in front of the runners and putting up signs to show them where to go. Bit of hard work, and I wouldn't be surprised if I get lost or something, but we do get free meals :D

Anyway, I'm off now cos my mum's having a go at me for not packing so tra peoples

World Going To Shit [BNP Style]

So, there I was on Sunday night after having watched the conclusion programme for the Apprentice, the results to the European Parliament vote were on the tv. I couldn't be arsed going to bed so i stayed up to watch it. Imagine my horror as I discover that the sickening British National Party (BNP) are actually gaining in votes.

I thought to myself who in their right mind would willingly allow those bastards, successors to the 'mass-murdering fuckhead' [from Eddie Izzard], Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.

I continued watching hoping that the fascists would gain no seats in the Parliament [which in my opinion, they never rightfully deserve - Fascism in all its forms should be made illegal]. However, Yorkshire & the Humber, and the North West of England both gave the BNP enough votes to allow them two seats. The representatives are Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons.

This has depressed me a lot, the fact that British politics has got so bad that we are voting racist twats into power, but there you go. I hope they're ousted as quickly as possible

In more recent news, 'BNP leader Nick Griffin has been pelted with eggs and forced to abandon a press conference outside Parliament.'

Ohh, the hilarity :]
At least there's a few sensible people out there ... I wish I was the egg-thrower.

Weekend At Dinefwr

Probably to be my longest blog yet - a whole weekend with many things I found exciting and therefore noted down - I am sorry I have no proper photos yet. I have to wait until I visit my nan's house to retrieve them, but I will get them.

But anyway, I must get on and write this because I am certainly falling behind in blogging; working several days behind can improve your memory but I'd like to be writing up to date blogs.

So, last Friday, after the picnic I've previously mentioned, I went off in the car with my mum (Rhian), my sister (Eleri), my cousin (Kayleigh) and Gareth to West Wales. A lot of my family were already at the House or driving in that western direction before us, although it wasn't particularly late.

The purpose of this weekend then:
to work voluntarily for the National Trust to create a better natural environment for people to appreciate.

Me and my family have done this kind of work before in the Gower, several times and I've always enjoyed it :) Work can consist of improving public countryside paths, clearing stingys, cutting down unwanted bushes for easy access. This weekend, we did gardening...woo. To improve this cottage which was to become the wonderful holiday home for the rich.
Admittedly, the garden was in a state when we arrived, with brambles and stumps of old trees scattered across it, but really, gardening seems less National Trust work, and more something I'd want some money for. But oh well, it was fun nonetheless.

No work happened on Friday night of course. That was time for getting settled in our part of the manor house (which was huge by the way). We also had to get used to the fact Chinese students were staying in the same place as us. Not the same bedroom but just upstairs. They spoke good English and didn't get in our way, so it was pretty easy to live with.

The night led to such frivolities as excessive drinking, playing 'Who's Who?' and a midnight walk to Dinefwr Castle.

The home-made wine was to be too much for Gareth who got pissed out of his mind, on 'Elderbarb Wine' [due to the fact he couldn't say 'berry']. He created new words throughout the night, such as 'uzuzu' and 'nuushunbowel'. Anyone understand?
Later in the night, some of us stumbled our way up to the castle. I'm surprised none of were killed, but the castle was amazing. The views were impressive too, the midnight mist covered the valley floor. Lovely =]

Saturday

And so on to the work...the first day of the weekend was largely about digging up the garden.
One side of the garden was covered in weeds, brambles, and an assortment of generally ugly plants, while the other had grass.
We dug up the garden in horrible rain [although I discovered later that West Wales' rain was nothing compared to the torrential downpour in Caerphilly] with a few small breaks. After wokring for hours, we left the garden in the afternoon, put off by the rain and returned to the House. I lazed around after showering and wrote a few notes for this very blog and sang along to the Killers, while the rest of the family looked around the amazing holiday cottage with its 6 en suite bedrooms, etc.

The evening consisted of burning random things with candles :D Pictionary which I absolutely love. So much fun, it is, although my team lost :(

Sunday

Twas a good day today; the gardening continued and by lunchtime it looked great. We had replanted the nice flowers around the edges of the garden, and the crap that was there previously had been taken away.
And....I found a fossil :) of a trilobite, not exactly rare but you know. It was all good, and I like old things :D

The Tea Episode was rather a downer on the day; lunchtime my auntie Sue ends up throwing boiling hot tea all down my right arm, thankfully leading to no blisters, but it bloody burnt lol

After a quick daylight visit to the castle we packed up and left for home. As I mentioned before, I stupidly left one of my socks there even though I was sure I got everything. I also left my phone :O which I've been without until today when my nan gave it back to me. Its charging now :D I love my phone

So yeah, in conclusion the weekend was great and I can't wait to do it again.

p.s I also love the deer and baby rabbits in the fields around the House :]

Loss Of A Sock

Isn't it just extremely annoying when you lose one, singular sock? The sock remaining just lies there with little purpose waiting for its twin to be found. I find it hard to throw the sock away [especially if the pair is particuarly nice or comfortable]. This situation actually occurred to me after my weekend holiday away, but I'll write about that in a later blog.
In addition, I had the same thing happening to me concerning a flip-flop, one lovely blue flip-flop [although I did hate the pair because they constantly rub]. So, yeah...

Anyway, that wasn't my main point; my main point to make was, however belated, the fun of Friday's picnic =D
Now, I know most people present on both blogger and the picnic have mentioned the day and it is already old news, but this is just me documenting a good day for the sake of it. I like the idea of reading back in the future, like I'm kind of obsessed with keeping my old schoolbooks. Very sad I know and I am missing out on the 'traditional' book burning but I enjoy the idea of my own history in this world. I especially like the fact I kept my year 6 book; my handwriting was probably easier to read back then :L I envy myself
Anyway, off topic now....

Right so, linking the flip-flop problem to picnic Friday, I was not amused when I found one flip-flop at the bottom of the stairs in the morning when I had hoped to wear them during the planned waterfight [although this did not occur]. I nicked Gareth's (mum's partner) flip-flops instead :) Who needs two pairs of flip-flops anyway :P

So yeah, lovely walk to Morgan-Jones' then. Ended up meeting up with Xanthe, Beth and Sarah along Mill Road and shopped in Asdas for ages, getting much random food, to be honest. Mini doughnuts are nice! =]
And then, after embarassing ourselves at the self-service check-out we walked up the stream-river-whatever up towards MJ Park.

At our arrival began the separation of picnics which began as a simple protest to concrete but led to much unwanted gossiping as far as I'm concerned.

But anyway, social friction aside, I think the football was very fun and funny. The 'quality played against the quantity' with a solid wall consisting of Beth, Leah, Carrie and Karan I seem to remember in one goal. Although, they still seemed to manage to let goals in :L
Chloe's football talents in flip-flops were immense :P and we kept our victory dance going too.
Also, Ben rallied our team well, I felt :)
However, the opposite team deserves a mention too I guess. Adam, I was really surprised he could see the ball :L so good playing there Ad. With Rout attempting to disable players and Liam and Lewis playing rather well its no surprise that they had about '50' goals lol

The day also saw the arrival of Jemma (Phil's girlfriend) into our midst, no doubt leaving us with much fear :L

The water fountains are excellent fun as usual, and Phil kept up his fear of them. Annoyingly, he can still run fast enough to evade me [as I only wished to make him feel some water :P]
Hilarity ensued though, when Lewis brought him down later on, but we didn't get him under the fountain. He kicks a lot :-|

Played on swings :] and the climbing frame of rope thing..... And Omg, little kids' roundabout is better than the big kids' crap one. As Lewis said 'there is a lot of friction' due to the 'ball bearings'. (Ooo by the way, I am forever in Lewis' debt, for his scientific explanations, especially in Chemistry this year....Thanks man =D)

So I'd say just about before two, I settled over on the grass next to the food :P and then played with the rugby ball avec Mair, Adam, and Xanthe. Apparently, I have an extremely serious face when passing the ball, even when trying to keep a straight face. However, it can't be as funny as Xanthe's face when she was laughing at mine :P haha

Anyway, that was the end of the day for me (about 20 to 3) because I had to be home for mother at 3 as the entire family was going on a National Trust Holiday for the weekend. Extremely fun it was, but I shall be elaborating on that in my next blog - Weekend at Dinefwr House.

=D

Stay informed :P

Just Wondering....

Does everyone copy and paste 'floccinaucinihilipilification' when mentioning it? because it is a bloody hard word to learn (but i think i've managed it...I'll check in a minute)

I mean 12 syllables [or thereabouts] is surely enough for one word!
Not that I have any bad feelings for the beautiful word; it has a certain je ne sais quoi unlike any other word. If you manage to use it in a sentence correctly, that would give you a smug feeling :] ... well for me, anyway.

Donc, a mon avis, cette blog n'est pas une floccinaucinihilipilification. Et toi?
